Odds And Ends...

Remember these? Anybody? Anti-gravity Boots? I got this pair when I was about eighteen. The rubber foam that lines them is a little old and cracked but they still work. The idea is to do a Richard Gere "Call Me" with them. You install a bar in your bachelor pad, then hang upside down and do exercises while Blondie wails in the background...

Sigh... (memories...)

These days I use an incline board. It's good for my beat up old back to hang at an angle and stretch out.

Years ago, I lent them to a friend's son to try. He grabbed a two by six collar tie on his back deck and did a pull up and then inverted himself. The trouble was, those yellow hooks will WEDGE themselves onto a two by six and you can't unhook yourself. He hung upside down like a bat for a couple of hours till his Pops got home...

There was something about our cat sitting here that made me reach for the camera. Silver cat, silver pot...

The other night, I looked at the outdoor themometer and it read 33 degrees (about 1 C). I figured that was a perfect temperature for a hot tub soak... I turned on the jets, headed inside, and waited an hour and a half- to be sure the water was fully hot. Then I came outside ('bout ten at night) stripped to my birthday suit, lifted the lid and HOPPED RIGHT IN!!

Fuuuuuck!! (That's what I said). The water was COLD! Apparently, our heater had died and left me standing wet and naked in 68 degree water at ten at night in 33 degree temperature...

It took me twenty minutes of shivering under all of my blankets to stop shivering...
I've just started taking Mum down to the lake to ride her tricycle. She gets so excited she wants to overdo her limits and now she's moaning on her chair about how sore she is.

"Your new life as an athlete, Momma..."

The sign down at our local tackle shop-- GOOD THINGS COME TO THOSE WHO BAIT...

And a perfect description of Cave Junction, at least some of it's peripheries...

A great collection of odds and ends.

I'm sorry but I laughed at the "hot" tub and I really shouldn't have. My Beloved and I went to thermal baths in Italy and who knew that "thermal" didn't necessarily mean "hot"?

Our spa thermostat is set to 38c and I jumped in once not realising it had buggered up and was about 50c!
Fuuuuuck!! (That's what I said too) and looked like a lobster from the thighs down.

Dang, I laughed hard out loud at your experience with the hot tub. Then I thought like Jeannie, You could have scalded yourself.

Gorgeous cat!

Sounds like your mother could use the hot tub to soothe her aching muscles (once the heater is fixed, that is).

Thanks for the giggle.

Had a pair of those once...kind of fun. However, I did a flip once down from the bar and landed flat of my back in the kitchen. Couldn't breathe for about 5 minutes!
