Words Behind Clouds

Mum is doing pretty well for an old broad who just had a stroke. I just got back from the hospital after watching rerurns with her all evening.

On tuesday she goes into what I call "bootcamp" for a week or ten days of therapy and then she'll be home again.

I put money down on a new mountain bike today while in town. Figure if I can't run a marathon, I can cycle one without hurting my back.

I'll finish Mum's stroke adventure maybe tomorrow. Starting with the clot buster and the giant toothpick in her toe, and finishing with how I helped her poop and then got an old friend of hers from California's daughter to wipe her backside...

It's true...

I'm so glad they got to your Mum within the required one hour window for the clot buster. One of my husband's golf buddies told him about this drug. His wife had a stroke and fell into a twisted heap. When the EMT's got there they told him about the drug and, like you, he signed the release form because he knew she wouldn't want to live like that. He said the results were almost immediate. She recovered with no outward sign that she had ever had a stroke. I hope your Mum recovers just as well as she did.

Keep us posted.

Oops! Sorry about that. My computer is slow this morning and I clicked on "publish" twice.

I hope your mother continues to improve every day. Take care of yourself too.

Make sure you get the extra padded seat or that marathon's gonna be downright uncomfortable....

Still got my fingers crossed.

Scott....you're the mountain these days, aren't you? I'm sorry to hear Mum has suffered a stroke. We're getting to be that age where we deal with the fragility of our loved ones.
My best to you.
