Big Bellies, Little PeePees--Do Things Ever Change?
This is a photo of my brother and I discussing the Gaga Strip on vacation from our hectic unjobs, unsolving world problems and untampering with unreal situations near the sea of The Dead (Jerry never played here...)
This would have to be 1966, late summer, judging by our swimsuit styles. By brother, I recall, is actually saying "Where are all da little fishees?"

I remember you saying your dad worked as a UN pilot in that neck of the woods. Bizarre..liked the Dead ref. Sorry to hear about Vince, by the way. On a beach in Dubai in my youth I was first hooked by someone fishing the shallows and then screamed my throat out at an Armenian guy shooting seagulls..but you can't beat the Palestine coast.(that sounds like some horrible allusion to the beach shelling, but wasn't meant to be.) Tell me something non-political about your time there? My dad left in 1948.(Lest you fear I may be turning into a pest, rest assured that I will be travelling soon..
AF trivia - can you recall a particular type of plane that on taking off, tilts its wing at an angle and goes into a very steep climb.
Was it a 'Provost'...?
Somehow, it never seems to stall in mid-air and the engine makes quite a racket.
When we moved to Jerusalem, I was barely one and my brother a little more than two. Mum says Steve kept talking about all the "dirty Arabs". Turns out, we had come from Denver, Colorado, where lots of white and pasty people live. Steve thought-- and you can understand his thinking-- that the darker skin color of the Arabs was a result of "dirt", and not pigment. My sister learned the language in a hurry (she was five, the perfect age) and I once had an entire pyramid stuffed up my butt, while Pops took a picture.
BTW-- carol-- from where to where?
Shar-- I'm still waiting to hear about your experiences on base. I am very curious...
dubai to london.escaping the heat and seeing family.i'll check out your stories and Pete's funnies from time to time..
yeah shar,I want to know too.
scott, something else I wanted to make sure of..you're not the collaborator on Mr A's prospective book, are you?or would that be your sometime antagonist whose name also begins with A..in a book, you two would be the same person!
carol-- I'm not collaborating with A. I don't know who that is. I do wish him well on his new creative pursuit, though. Good for him!
Have a safe trip and do stop in. Perhaps you'll put up a billboard in Times Square "AELEOPE" is now open for bustiness...
I'm no double D.Times Square? don't you mean Piccadilly Circus?I am in proportion and neither under- nor grotesquely over-endowed.Ciao
Is Times Square known for, you know, boobie girls? I didn't realize. I just thought it was a commercial district and vaguely remember thinking it had billboards...
I wasn't tryin' to infer...you know...
Honest.
Ok, ok. I know I got to do that AF brat thingy.
Been kinda busy lately and will be for the next month. Moving to another 'home' with Mom/Dad and there's loads of stuff to pack or unload on some unsuspecting idiot eg a 30 year old Sound-a-Rama organ that would look good in a museum. It still works. Probably, give it to the neighbourhood kindergarten and some kid might revive songs by the Tremellos(sp?).
And Scott, will also dig up my photo archives and send you more.
carol, put up AELEOPE in SOHO. That would really be dandy.
Ciao..
