The Ebb And The Fall
The elderly
Fall
Like the days
We expect
The fall, prepare
The way
We ready for sleep
Each day
Wakes
Like a child
Each child
Lives
As present as a day
Each day a present
before
Sunset
Befalls us all
Water falls
Its mist
Fades
The willow preps
For the cold
Its leaves
Fall
Wash away
Find the sea--
The sea that begat
Us
We feed the sea
Its tides
Ebb in and out
the moon
Prescribes
The tides
The globe spins
We circle
Around the sun
Once a year
The years fall
Like the days
The elderly
Ebb in and out
Bent like the willow
Circle
Expecting to fall
Marking time
Like the moon and the sun
One day is a year
When you are expecting
To die
