Another Year Of "Fifty Feet From Where You Sleep"...

Last year I challenged others to take their cameras out and get a few good photographs close to home. I called it "Fifty Feet From Where You Sleep" (but that's just a name, not a hard and fast rule). The idea was (and is) to "see" things all around you, forcing yourself to "make" photos instead of going out and taking pictures of pretty things. The process can be... oh... how about "educational"?

OK. How about "mildly amusing"?

So here are ten of mine.

These were all taken just outside of my shop in an area of roughly fifteen square feet. I made the decision, walked outside and looked for something "photographable". In ten minutes I had these.

But to give you other ideas, here is one picture from a second set I did I'll post later. A good photo can be found just about anywhere...

So if you fancy yourself a camera buff and have a blog, I challenge you to take at least five photos fifty feet from where you sleep, post them on your blog, and tell me about it so I can tell others...

Great pics posted, these are old via photobucket as I don't know how to HTML into post.

Taken on Kodak slide film and scanned so not as sharp as original.

Great pictures - I love the clear drops of water.

I don't have much skill with the camera but perhaps I'll get my little do-nothing out and see what I can see.

You totally grossed out someone with your comment about unidentifiable carcass that a dog brought in to munch. I just thought it was funny. (Of course it didn't happen to me - yet - at least with the dog)

I've got several photos on my blog posted recently. All taken outside and some on top of the dog house.
'Course I did add 'props' since they were all taken to advertise my new on-line store. If you click that link there will be a bunch more.

Love close-up photography! Don't do it enough myself, but yours are fantastic.

Hmmmm, I've never really looked at welding rods that way before. Interesting.
