Contraptions And Spiders...

I often wonder if it is the same spider that makes this lovely web on the barbed wire as I walk to the lake? It seems it is always there, in various forms of itself, on the same stretch of fence.

I walk the dogs in the late afternoon so the sun is always low and back lighting this delicate creation as I walk by...

I never see any flies in it though...

Not much to report around these parts this week. I finally got two pieces of pipe back from a bike shop that had them for over a month. I left them with the owner of the shop, because he offered to turn them on his lathe and remove .o64 of an inch off their diameter. These were to be sized and welded to make two "goose necks" for my three-wheeled contraption. Then the owner went to Italy for three weeks...

Anyway, I got the steering mechanism all worked out (you steer this bike with your feet- very similar to rudder peddles on an airplane). Now I have to find another trashed bike with nice components to finish making up the drive-train. I suppose I could just go out and buy the components, but what fun would that be?

I saw this car down at the brew-pub pizza restaurant we had a party at last friday. I'm thinking hmmm... now that looks like a contraption too!

Ha! Down the years I used to sign off to family "Love Carol, and all the Mini-Coopers". in any correspondence - I guess it's kind of stuck. My eldest has been taking any job he can find outside school, every penny goes towards his "Mini-Cooper" fund. But I agree with Secret Agent Woman here, why on earth would anyone want to maul about with such a cute little guy?

I can't wait to see this bike of yours in action.

Awesome photo of the spider web, well captured.
