Badu Is New...
Turkey Drumsticks came around for another bike ride the other day. During the ride, he was complaining about his step-father and how he went out and got a puppy when he had no clue about taking care of a puppy. What he thought he wanted he didn't get- a lovable "puppy" that you can hug and kiss and hold in your lap. What he got instead was a puppy that chewed phone wires, table legs, and the ears of their cats.
I asked Brendon what they were going to do about the puppy, and he said his Mom and he thought it had been a big mistake, and were looking for someone who would take the puppy off their hands.
Softy that I am, I volunteered to take "Buddy", thinking that I'd help fix the damage his step-father had done, and then find a nice home for "him".
"Buddy" turned out to be a "Badu" (named after an East African Voodoo Spiritual Advisor from Wichita, Kansas...) a "girl" dog, and her bad behavior was simply puppy rambuctiousness (as Brendon's step-father has physical limitations which limited the amount of exercise his little "girl" could get).
So Buddy became Badu (pronounced Bah-doo)and is learning what it means to go for walks, swim, wrestle in the yard and sleep it all off...
She's half Heeler and Half Australian Shepherd. I imagine she'll be a smart little mischievous cuss.

She's found a good home now and looks really happy.
You are a softee and it looks good on you. I wish someone would offer me a new dog.
Welcome back to puppy land. It has its charms but personally, I can't WAIT for mine to grow up.
There's something really attractive about a man who cares for animals. She's adorable too.
Cute butt!
