To Trike Or Now To Trykke?

I've been thinking for some time now how Mum would benefit from having a granny tricycle around. I've sort of had to wait until she was well enough and strong enough to ride one.
Well, it is time. I ordered her a Walmart Schwinn for 250 bucks, and it should arrive within the week.

I've also been thinking about other exercises I can do besides ride a bike that aren't jarring and are more fun than inside the house machines. I bumped into an infomercial on tv the other day and remembered seeing someone scooting around on one of these contraptions last time I was in California.

I'm not one to spend money on a whim, but those silly things look like alot of fun and great exercise for the "middle" section, where all my beer lives on.

I haven't hit the "purchase button just yet, but I am sorely tempted.

I think having my shoulder be all banged up is what has stopped me so far.

The one I would need is the most expensive one, of course, because it has the heaviest frame with the extra stopping power of disc brakes...

Vroom vroom...

That vroom thing looks like fun, but it's very dangerous because you have to swoop in and out of traffic. Darting about with 2,000 pound metal going at 35+ mph is a great way to earn a fatal road rash.

But it looks like a lot of fun if you can survive it.

But ask yourself: How is it going UP the hill? Bet a bike is a bit easier!

yeah - it looks awkward - I wouldn't ride it on the road and where else could you ride it? - I think roller blades and a walker on wheels (if you don't have great balance) would be just as good a workout and safer

I wondered about uphill, too. Plus, did you look at the videos that come up at the end. There's one of a pretty bad crash.

Now THAT looks like fun. But stay off the hills until you get good at it!!

Snott, sorry I forgot to ask about Mum. I really did think about her as I was closing the page. Looks like good news from this post.
As for boogers, you're still my fav.

I'm thinking you just need to get you some roller blades and do circles around your mum as she trikes down the road....
