River Dance And Yellow Balls

My sister Sandy said "fuck it" to her chemo and came up for a few day's visit. My brother Steve left his family down in the Bay Area and drove her up here.

Strangely, they brought along a weird storm that will bring us some rain tonight-- cold rain that reminds one of the fall to come.

We thought today would be the only day to hit the river, and the dogs-- a bat just flew into the open door of my room, did five or six laps, and then flew out-- will swim, even when the sun isn't out (yes, there really was a bat in here just a second ago...)

My sister has a sore throat and the chemo is knocking her about pretty good, but she just keeps rolling along-- tennis ball tosses for the dogs, a few extra pillows dragged down to the water's edge...

Her dogs are three of the most well-behaved dog-guests ever, and my brother Steve can cook fried chicken the southern way and make white gravy...

Mum is out of her chair more often than normal, trying to be Mum as much as possible.

The wind is whipping up the tops of the trees outside, and life is electra-frying and smellin' up the living room...

Nothing like a real family visit, is there? Glad she's not letting it get her too down. Sending you all lots of healing light...
