Remember, Remember, The Fifth Of November

AS a diehard iconoclast, I find it almost anathema for me to be shilling for a Presidential candidate. The idea of joining in the ranks and supporting someone... holding someone up and proclaiming them worthy of my time and energy...

well...

...that's never happened to me in my present lifetime...

After more than six years of watching a buffoon "lead" the US and basically fuck everything up, it has occured to me that the only way we can resolve
Federal stupidity is to take away as many powers as possible from the Federal government. (If that sounds radical, it really isn't. The Federal government has been taking away your powers and rights incrementally, and I am just suggesting we reverse the trend.)

November 5th has been designated Ron Paul Day by his followers, and they (and I) are participating in a national single day fundraiser on his behalf. If you are one of those people that complain constantly about the Federal government fucking up and for once would like to do something to make changes there, I would suggest you join me.

This is the essay I wrote in support of reducing the size and scope of the Federal government-- "What does Ron Jeremy Have To Do With Ron Paul? Or... Politics And Porn Stars..."

Google Ron Paul.

Google Ron Paul, November 5th.

Google the Constitution and read it.

Get involved. Join the fracas.

Goddamnit, show the world what freedom and democracy and the American way really are...

Or at least watch this funny George Carlin video...

Wow! Not sure what to say. As a dyed-in-the-bleeding-heart liberal I am so dismayed by my choices of Democratic candidates I just may join you...

Be gentle if the answer is no.

Nov 5th is celebrated over here as Guy Fawkes day, we have firework displays and bonfires nationwide. Guy Fawkes almost succeeded in blowing up the Houses of Parliment in 14-something-or-other.. go figure!

I am befuddled that the past two elections have been so close. I am losing faith in the electorate when they choose someone so inarticulate as leader of the free world. I knew we were in trouble when W. said "sublibdibal" instead of "subliminal" in 2000. As for today's field, I worry about the electability issue. Can we survive another eight years like this?

meno- I have yet to see the movie. We're strictly NETFLIX folks round here.

Yes, bernita, exactly.

Kario- COnsider that all manner of liberal ideals can be implemented locally if all your taxes and everyone's around you weren't flowing off to war...

Shrink- The guy who started the one day movement, took a scene from the movie V for Vendetta, and ran with it...

billy- Beyond the abuse of the language, when a man stands in front of a hostile constituency and claims "I am the decider", one has to seriously take away his toys...

well, I don't have first-hand knowledge of conditions by you..but it may be significant that when I asked this neocon asshole I sometimes try to goad on another website what he thought of Ron Paul, he vomited such a splatch of vituperative bile and empty insult that I felt that you may really be on to something here! (but why isn't he a Democrat...)

Hi carol-

He is what is referred to these days as a paleoconservative.

Meaning, his views on government go WAY back to the days when US citizens still preferred small, unobtrusive governance.

The idea, after a stint with Bush, is back in vogue.

Yes..as I say, they must be running scared to be attacking him so viciously. Good luck!
