Adventures Come In Familial Packages

I think my sister took this picture. I was overseas somewhere when she got a bee in her bonnet and borrowed a tiny silver Honda Civic hatchback and just "took off" on a tear around the US for something like six weeks.

She went to see everything she always wanted to see. The Grand Tetons. Half Dome, obviously, and a bit of Canada. She drove through Vegas, stopped to see old friends who had moved away long ago, and just got it all out of her system.

Well, after being couped up here for a year, I got it all in my system again. I feel like I need to sneeze a great adventure. I feel like I need to cough up a bit of trouble and fun. I feel like seeing new things and meeting new people, again. Aww heck, I just feel like livin', man...

My sister called her borrowed car the Giant Coors Can. It was just her and a backseat full of stuff. I am debating whether to go motorhome (27 foot, BAD gas milleage) or small truck with camper shell. I am thinking about doing the snowiest parts of the US, maybe hit Canada and Alaska, so I'm not too sure about motorhoming in the winter snow and wind...

Anyway, just so ya'll know I ain't dead and buried, I'm telling the world that come late January, when we finish the two story we're building just down the street here, I'm gonna laptop and hop my way around the north of this great nation of ours, take my snow skis, my two dogs, and a song or two stuck in my head...

It'll be just like the old days...

Come on up to North West Minnesota, by January, we will have all the snow you can stand. No kidding, look us up if you end up near Detroit Lakes! You can take my daughter out and let her kick your butt on a hockey rink! Now THAT, I would like to see a picture of!!

We got pulled off the two story to finish another two story that is a garage with an apartment over it in the woods. All the mechanicals were being done (plumbing heating ducts, insulation) and now its time to rock and roll-- my favorite part.

Just -Nik You want to see ME on ice skates? I am a fantabulous skiier. But ice skates? I fall down...

All the time.
