A THAI BEACH BUNGALOW from a new friend I could grow old with...

I've been yakking like a maniac about a place that no longer exists. Yet, pictures like this come back to haunt me and remind me what I have not forgotten.

One of the few Hot or Not connections I have made that feels like a real connection sent me this picture she took while in Thailand herself.

This is similar to the Koh Samui I remember and has since been lost.

You can almost smell the banana pancakes and feel the sand and hear the lapping waves and feel the water's warmth and find yourself settled in with a book and a babe and a pair of flip flops... Posted by Picasa

Looks and sounds like pure heaven. Minus the 'book' part... but that's just my preference. ;)

I apologize for not being more worldly educated.... but what's happened to this place?

Blondie-- Simply put, they made it better for some and worse for others. It got "developed".

"Paved paradise, and put up a parking lot"...

That sort of thing.

They took away what was special about the place and made it like any other beach resort tourist location.

It is still a "cool" place, especially if you are young and enjoy endless Spring breaks.

If I hadn't been, I would definately go.
